Behrouz Vatankhah (he/him), is an Iranian American visual artist. Initially trained in illustration, Behrouz transitioned to a multifaceted approach that incorporates print screen techniques, collage, and 3D objects. The transition to the U.S. provided a fresh perspective on societal challenges and the collective human experience.
Behrouz Vatankhah’s artistic exploration is driven by a relentless curiosity about human challenges, self-discovery, and the emotional landscapes of memory and trauma. His work explores the pain of loss, the triggering of past experiences, and the search for new beginnings. By merging abstract forms with tangible elements, Behrouz creates visual narratives that resonate with themes of resilience and transformation.
Education and professional experiences have further honed Behrouz Vatankhah’s skills. He began his artistic training with years of studio painting at multiple schools, followed by studies in illustration. Subsequently, Behrouz studied sculpting. This diverse formal training laid the foundation for his innovative approach to art, blending traditional techniques with contemporary themes and exploring multimedia.
